The land of Megrelians – Samegrelo – from ancient times was a part of the kingdom of Colchis, famous as the land of Golden Fleece. The oldest principalities of Georgia, this region belonged to Dadiani Family. beside of rich historical, cultural monuments and amazing nature – the Megrelian cuisine is outstanding, the flavors and dishes that can’t be forgotten.

Day 1: Tbilisi – Baia winery – Ethno village Sisatura – Zugdidi
Day 2: Zugdidi – Dadiani palace – Nogha Castle – Oda winery – Tbilisi
The program
Day 1: Tbilisi – Baia winery – Ethno village Sisatura – Zugdidi
In the morning meet your guide and drive to Samegrelo region. The first stop will be at Baia Winery https://baiaswine.com/ where you will have a lunch and wine tasting. In 2013, two sisters Baia and Gvantsa Abuladze started to rediscover the rarest species of wine grapes in Western Georgia and to focus on bio wine making techniques. After Lunch continue drive to Zugdidi and check-in in a small guest house “Green House” https://www.facebook.com/p/Green-House-hotel-100063624247633/. Have a short rest and drive to Ethno village Sisatura https://www.facebook.com/SisaturaethnoVillage/ where you will have culinary workshop with incredible Megrelian women, and learn how the famous dish “Elargi” is done. After dinner drive back to guesthouse and overnight.
Day 2: Zugdidi – Dadiani palace – Nogha Castle – Oda winery – Tbilisi
In the morning after breakfast check out from the guest house and visit Dadiani Palace – the residency of Dadiani, princes Samegrelo. It’s one of the first European-style palaces built in 17th Century. Nowadays the museum complex consists of palaces of Queen of Samegrelo Ekaterine Chavchavadze-Dadiani and Prince Niko Dadiani, church and the botanical garden. Here you can see unique numismatic materials, Dadiani family collections of medieval European armor and weapons, ethnographic objects, and fine art. After visiting museum continue drive to Nogha Castle – built in 16-17th Century and was owned by Jaiani family. Later the owners of this fortress became the Dadiani family. several years ago, the castle was reconstructed and now it’s well-preserved ellipse shape castle with 4 towers and double massive stone fence. For lunch you will stop at Oda winery https://odawines.ge/ Keto Ninidze, who is running this small family winery, had moved from Tbilisi to her family house built in 1933 and started to produce traditional Georgian wines. After lunch and wine tasting drive directly to Tbilisi, arrival in capital and end of the tour.
